Ear To 'ere
A Welsh American musical collaboration
Ear to 'Ere has been a long, slow train a-comin'. The tracks run all the way from the North Georgia Mountains to the Cambrian
Hills of west Wales. The first cuts were recorded in early 2003 while Bush and his craven cabal were plotting the Iraq invasion
and I was planning to move the family overseas; the two events which inspired both Craig's song, "Blueprint for Casualty"
and Ralph's contribution, "Sir William's Garden", respectively. Even then, with these first tentative tunes, I was
thinking that it might be possible to bridge the distance between Georgia and Wales culturally and physically through the
medium of music and by means of computerized recordng technology and give the American musicians and songwriters I've been
lucky to have found, a chance to connect with their British and Welsh counterparts- in other words, have a pickin' session
in cyber space. Four years, a dozen trips across the Atlantic, the efforts of a score of artists and countless hours recording,
mixing and mastering in studios on two continents later, and, yo and behold, this engine is chugging down the Rheidol Valley,
out into the Irish Sea, through the North Atlantic fog ,onto the coastal plains of Georgia, across the Piedmont, coming at
you like a big old friendly face, grinnin' from Ear to 'ere.

The CD is the first release on our very own Wild West Wales Records. It features many well known local musicians and some
great American players too. Look at the video on this page for a taster of Track one on the album.
